02/12/99 22:52:09 - MESSAGE #1176

What's neat (to the average yuppoid) about answering machines? You can check out your ex-wife's latest divorce demands from any phone! Even a CELLFONE!! So, listen in with your scanner, with your handy TechToyz DTMF decoder or freq counter, and when people beep in their access codes, you can tell what the code is to get into the VMB or answering machine. I know, how to you figure out the number to dial to get that answering machine in the first place? It's not always easy, but sometimes you can tell, it's some company or something. The fun ones are those where the guy's having the operator dial it for him, or something. Have fun!

AL....yeh, I gotta panasonic system, thats real nice, has 3 voicemailboxes, and a regular answering machine, and it can be programmed to beep when theres a new message in any one of em....it also has remote features, the coolest of which is the ability to listen to whats goin on in yer house from a payphone....but the cool thing is that you kin turn off the remote features to prevent getting hacked.....But its like an expensive model with fax machine, telephone, speaker phone, etc.......but then again....money is no object if youre willing to card.....

This is a great machine in my opinion,, On this Machine you can Phreak-out a mailbox, the machine can store up to four mailboxes, This posting is just a quick rundown of the functions,ETC. To gain access, call the unit, you can enter the THREE DIGIT remote access code while the greeting message is playing, if the message doen't stop, well you obviously entered in the wrong code, try again.. Once you have gained access, the macine will ask you for the instruction code, just press "0" for the help menu, if you don't enter a instruction code within "10" seconds the machine will hang up on you.
This system has an internal security code with "65,536" possible combinations, to prevent unauthorized use of the telephone line by another nearby cordless telephone, the identifing signals are created by microcomputers in both the BASE UNIT and the HANDSET. If there is a power failure and there is no batterys installed in the system the remote access codes will return to there factory preset codes.

Primary remote access code: 999
Mailbox 1: 555
Mailbox 2: 666
Mailbox 3: 777
Mailbox 4:888

FROM - Coyote 509 - 206.96.92.150

I need help breaching two answering machines.

The first I got lucky and randomly hit the code. I don't know what is was.
I think I hit 2 to play the messages. It played the message, said the date
and then "To delete message, press 0." Then it went on to the next message.
I must have changed the message somehow maybe pressing 7 or 8. When I tried
the number again, I got a default message. The machines voice was a scratchy
females. Any button I push start recording the message. After two seconds of
silence, it beeps and hangs up.

Machine two I have not broken yet. When leaving a message, it sounds like a
game show timer. "Bip bip bip bip beeeep, clunck."

If you recognize these machines, let me know what type they are and send
possible default codes to my email address. Thanks in advance...

Phone companies can legally tap the first 2 minutes of your phone calls without a warrant.

SecureID is nothing more than a difficult password.

No matter what the phone companies say, their physical security hardly ever increases.

I thought SkyTel was a nation-wide paging service. Instead of just getting pages in certain areas of the state you live in, SkyTel pagers will receive pages almost anywhere across the country.
A person calls the 1-800 number from anywhere, and no matter where you are, you get the page.

I think the pages are sent by satellite, rather than ground-based antenna sites like normal pagers. So they can cover then entire U.S.

SkyTel is kinda like ATT true ties. You call up the # and it propts you to do stuff like leave a message. But I think if you hit the * button it asks you to enter an access code. They are usually 3 or 4 digits. E.G. 18002043265 the pin is three digits. Practice on this one. Any questions... e-mail me at direllac@hotmail.com.

Answering machines are just toys along the lines of phreaks. An answering machine is just the same as accessing someone's email account. So its good to have a little knowledge about the machines in case you ever wanna find out something from someone.

I enjoyed thumbing through all of your pictures, but I had a hard time figuring out if these were hackers, phreaks, or just freinds of yours. I hear that there are alot of female phone phreaks, but I hardly ever bump into them online, or in TC (like the ol' DefCon). About the only person I really knew form there was Skalar109.

You should lose that "best viewed with Lynx". Let's look at Lynx the way it was supposed to be looked at. When Lynx was created, it was so that people who were not "31337" enough to have Winblows, could still kind of surf. It honestly sucks ass, and takes the fun out of surfing the web. Maybe UNIX seems cool to everyone now, but when I was using it back in the day, people were all ready looking at Microsoft and changing their OS's at home. Is it time to migrate back? Yes. But I am sure there are better things to view web pages with.

ok this will explain how to get free calls from a person you dont like. first hack into their answering machine and change the Out going message to something like "Hello.....(pause).....oh yes of course i'll accept" then go to a payfone and dial AT&T(1\02880)and place a call under 3rd party billing. Make the 3rd party the hacked answering machine. and PRESTO of course it'll accept

sounds like the tone an "originating" fax machine makes to try to wake up the fax machine on the other end. So, there must be a fax machine with a number similar to your voice mail number, and some bonehead somewhere is dialing your number by mistake.

if you want to bug someone and hack their answering machine..heres an easy way to do it. first of all, see if they have a cheesy machine. to do this..during the greeting press # and then 0. if the message repeats itself, this machine will have a 2 digit code. usually it'll be something like 11 or 22 etc. then you can access into it. One machine i got into had the room monitor feature. it was cool i was bugging their entire house! to access room monitor, press 6. and to change their greeting, press 7. if anyone wants some more info on this, email me at pinfresh@hotmail.com and i will go into more detail. i would like to know some formats for the more advanced machines that have voicemail, and also how to get unlisted numbers without using a beigebox. BTW, its fun to hack your local television stations' vmb and listen into what people have to say for comments and such. it's a laff riot. And if your local TV station is dumb, you can listen away at their messages for 2+ years without them changing the code.
